The 1901 Facsimile Behind the Scenes
The 1901 Facsimile’s 16-word conclusion on how the book came to be printed: “In 1900 the book was sold by the Messrs. Brown to Mr. William H. Lambert of Philadelphia” hardly tells the story. There is much more.
The actual history is found in by Abraham Lincoln: His 1858 Time Capsule. Within its 164-pages is a previously unpublished:
- Letter from 19th century Lincoln biographer Ida M. Tarbell;
- History from famed collector William A. Lambert;
- Production note from 1901 publisher McClure Phillips & Co.; and
- More
To read this history, carefully told, purchase by Abraham Lincoln: His 1858 Time Capsule.
